Cowhide Rug Maintenance & Durability
The following text constitutes a general guideline; please refer to each product for more specific care.

Our Cowhide Rugs are qualified as tanned finished products, unique natural pieces from animals not in risk of extinction or endangered species.

Cowhide Rug Maintenance & Durability   Natural leather is marked with signs of its natural origin as scars, insect bites, veins, hair density, shade and grain variations, among other.

These serve as proof that only genuine hides have been used and are the markings which owners cherish and should be embraced as statements of authenticity and individuality.

Among the different types of Cowhide Rugs comprised in our collection, Vaqueta (eco-friendly leather) tend to be the most durable.

However, durability and expected life is highly dependant on placement, installation, transit and care.

In case of spills, absorb excess liquid and gently blot out any spills using a soft cloth dampened in warm water. Wipe gently towards the centre of the spill and allow to dry away from direct heat.

Avoid exposure of leather to direct sunlight, intensive heat, water and hard rubbing.

In case of persisting stains, use a soft solution of neutral soap (no detergent) and warm water in a 1:10 ratio.

Apply the solution with a clean sponge and let it air out.

Try this method in an open area (avoiding direct sunlight) to make sure that a clean/original color is obtained. If possible, try this method on an inconspicuous area first, to test if it may affect coloring.

  Cowhide Rug Maintenance & Durability

If stained with greasy or oily products clean softly with a clean and dry cloth and leave it until the stain begins to disperse in the leather; do not use water or any other liquids. We recommend that this be done by professionals.

Cowhide Rug Maintenance & Durability

Vacuuming should be kept to a minimum and should be performed with utmost care, as failure to do so can result in irreparable damage.

Only when necessary, gently vacuum rugs using the appropriate upholstery attachment, never rotary cleaning tools.

Do not steam clean.

When rolling rugs, maintain the finished side on the outside.

Avoid keeping rugs rolled for lengthy periods of time and never leave rolls standing (always lay flat)
